Patrons appreciate the cozy ambiance, although some note it can be a bit chilly for young children and the elderly. Highlights include the steamed horse grass chicken, noted for its tender and flavorful profile, alongside other well-prepared vegetarian dishes. Many families, like the one reviewed by Phyllis Low, return for satisfying meals that keep the children coming back for more. The grilled iberico pork ribs, however, seem to polarize opinions, with some diners finding them tough and lacking in value.

Review highlights
Based on 184 reviewsRestaurant Mactra (M) 富私房菜 in Kota Kemuning is widely appreciated for its generous portion sizes and flavorful Chinese dishes, particularly the steamed chicken and fish specialties. Guests frequently mention the cozy and comfortable ambiance, though some note the air conditioning may be a bit too cool for young children or the elderly. Service improvements over time have been highlighted, with recent visits indicating a more efficient and pleasant dining experience compared to its early days. While located slightly outside central Klang, the restaurant remains a popular choice for family gatherings, offering satisfying meals that encourage repeat visits. Overall, it is recognized for its tasty cuisine and welcoming environment, with minor considerations regarding noise levels and temperature comfort.
Was looking for a restaurant that is outside of South Klang and not too far to bring my aunt and uncle out for dinner. Kota kemuning fits the criteria perfectly, and this restaurant looks decent, though the rating is below 4. We booked a day in advance, was given a choice of ground or upstairs. Ground is noisier but elderly will not need to climb stairs. Ordered 6 dishes for 7 of us. The steamed chicken 马草鸡 was nice, we overlooked that ma cau chicken would b chewy for elderly compared to farm chicken. Other dishes like the tofu, vege were cooked to perfection that fit our taste preference, not overcooked and decent taste. The iberico pork rib was a disappointment, too lean and too chewy. I bet it's frozen not was rushed to prepare. Not worth the value. Service was attentive. The servant proactively lighted a candle when a big fat fly was scouting around the dishes. It slowed the fly's ambush a bit but I guess the fly was too desperate than to retreat from by the fire. Overall not too bad a dining experience, not any wow to lure to revisit immediately but good enough to remember when looking for food within the vicinity.
The portion of the food is extremely large for medium size. Food is fabulous and tasty. The environment is cosy and comfortable. Maybe quite cold for children or elderly who cannot stand cold. Worth dining and satisfying experience.
Had a great dinner with family. My children refilled two bowls of rice, steam horse grass chicken is simply delicious. Steam Patin taste great. Will come back again.
Lovely chicken rice store. Love the chicken rice here. The ginger is super as well.
I gave this restaurant 2 stars 3 days after it opened. Everything seemed chaotic at that time. The food quality was only so-so, and the quantity was small. Today, Sept 2, 2018 ... It was such a refreshing change. Service was fast and efficient. Portions were average size. All the food was delicious, especially the 2 kg + steamed patin fish. It was nicely cooked in a tasty soya based sauce with green onions. Of course, the price was a nice size too, but the taste made it worth every ringgit. The lettuce wrap dish was only so-so. The filling was a bland, and it seemed to need more salt. The other dishes were fantastic. A nice surprise was the red bean dessert soup at the end of the meal, and it was at no extra cost.
Food: 5 Stars We have been here for a few times including the CNY dinner. No doubt a hidden gem which serves one of the best Chinese cuisine you can find within Kota Kemuning area. Their cooking easily surpasses the food quality of many established Chinese restaurants and outlets nearby. Highly recommend their steamed chicken and steamed fishes. Their CNY Lou Sang is also the most unique and tasty one that we have tasted so far. Environment: 4 Stars The whole place is cosy, clean and neat with spacious seating arrangement. It is not noisy even if full house. Service: 4 Stars The manager and waitresses are generally attentive, courteous and helpful. All dishes are served pretty swiftly. So far no bad experience in waiting. Parking: 5 Stars Plenty of street parkings within the vicinity. Location: 4 Stars Located right at the business district of Kota Kemuning and easy to find. Price: 4 Stars The food price is definitely on the high side compared with other Chinese restaurants nearby, but you cant complain after appreciating the quality of food that they offer. Overall: 5 Stars
Their signature chicken looks overcooked, the meat is bit dry instead of juicy. Patin fish is fresh , we loved it. The claypot kangkong is a must try dish.
